Urbain Donnadieu (Christian Clavier), the director of a company that builds prefabricated houses, was raised by his grandmother in a profit-loving culture. He converts money stolen from his company into gold ingots that he hides among the bricks of his house in the country. To avoid having to pay tax, Urbain and his grandmother decide to take the gold to Switzerland... and their house along with it!
